There is this parenting trend that I've seen on TikTok recently that is straight-up baffling. I'm sure you've heard of parents deciding to never say "no" to their children but rather redirecting them towards the results that they (the parents) want. For example, when your child says, "Can I stick this fork in this power surge," the parent says, "I think it would be better to stick it in your bowl of mashed potatoes." Obviously, I'm joking, but I can't imagine it's advantageous for a person who is brand new to this world and its rules to never hear "no" before entering a school setting. Pointing kids in the general direction of the answer and waiting for them to get it sounds much less healthy than actually saying what you mean. Kids aren't stupid, and if they've been conditioned not to know the difference between a firm "no" and a "Mommy doesn't want you to do that, but you can make your own choices," they will undoubtedly become some kind of a people-pleasing neurotic.

    Storm rolled through last night spawning multiple tornadoes, and she's asking why the sirens went off for a little wind. Her kids were kept in school when a storm, also spawning multiple tornadoes and baseball size hail, hit at 3:30pm last year. The comments were not nice to her.

    Who is in charge of pushing the button for the siren? I've been in for 3 years. I've heard those sirens go off for weather at least 25 times. I've also waited 3 hours while my kids were made to stay in school. (Thankfully) It's never been ANYTHING besides wind or rain.

    So yesterday my dad gave my 17 month old a red bull... obviously I didn't realise until I've gone outside where everyone was and she was there drinking it & spilling it everywhere. I took it off her, 15 minutes later she was sick everywhere. She woke up at 4am grunting and crying in pain, I'm presuming her tummy was upset.     Also side note, you can technically give your child double almost triple the amount of medication that is recommended on the bottle. A couple weeks ago I brought my daughter into emerg and the doctor wrote down doses of Tylenol and Motrin that she could actually have. The Motrin was double the amount for her and Tylenol was basically triple the amount. 6m Like Reply
